Sober Living is housing for people who have usually just come out of treatment. It allows them a chance to have the additional support of peers who have walked in their shoes. It provides accountability and structure, often for the first time in a very long time.
An addict only has about a 12-15% of staying sober after leaving treatment. Going to Sober Living to learn how to start over, improves their chances of success. It is not always covered by insurance , and people just leaving treatment often have had no income for sometime. Finances are often a barrier to moving in to Sober Living. We work with addicts and these homes to try to overcome such barriers.
We provide community education to addicts, families of addicts, schools, and the community. Some topics include overdose recognition and reversal, information on community resources and support.
One of the hardest things that anyone will ever go through is losing a child or family member. Friends and coworkers often don't understand, and are afraid to talk bout it or acknowledge the loss. We provide support from other people who have lived through this devastation, professional bereavement volunteers, and community resources for this loss.
